Each
year the Downtown Oklahoma City Lions Club provides needy families in Oklahoma
with a very special Christmas. Lions Club members shop for Christmas
gifts for kids under the age of 12 and provide a nice Christmas meal with all
the trimmings for the entire family. Names and wish lists are taken by
the Lions Club office in November. Once the names are in, Lions shop for
items on each child's Christmas list and the gifts are wrapped and stored at
the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank until the week before Christmas. More Lions
shop for the groceries and a few days before Christmas even more Lions
personally play Santa by delivering the gifts and food to each home.
Each year children are provided with gifts from Santa and
families feast on a great Christmas dinner thanks to the
Downtown Oklahoma City Lions Club.
