Four times a year the Downtown Lions Club sponsors teen dances for disabled and special teens in the greater Oklahoma City area. These are teens that, even though they are always invited to school functions in their local schools, they feel uncomfortable because of disability.
The club holds such dances at Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day and the end of school. They are open to any of the teens at no cost to them. Parents are also welcome to help with the party. Many of the teens continue coming even after they are no longer in school as it is the only social activity they truly enjoy.
Below are photographs of one of the Halloween 2005 party. It is gratifying to us that they enjoy these parties so much.
